Sawyer

So, I realized that I don't have too many pictures of Sawyer here. Maybe its because he's always moving to fast to capture a picture...or many it's because every time I get the camera he moves at lightening speed to get to me and grab it. Either way, I thought I'd share a few of my favorites.

It's hard to believe he's only 20 months old. He's always trying to keep up with his big brothers...he refuses any help we try to give him. He's been talking more and more. He's always smiling...even though there's always a bit of mischief in those smiles. We couldn't love him any more.

Can you understand why I have a hard time getting mad at him? Just look at those big brown eyes? How can you stay mad at all that cuteness? Of course, I'm biased.

I couldn't post without a pictuers of Mitchell. He went to church wearing a duck outfit. I even took pictures of the duck footies on the pants...Craig laughed at me. But hey, I admit it....I'm as cheesy as they get.

Summer Fun

We had our first bit of hot weather this summer, so I pulled out the pool and grabbed the sunscreen. The boys were so excited! They loved the bone chilling water (really it is, it comes right from our well so it's super cold) and splashed the day away. The only rub...I had to call Craig to come home and unhook the hose so I could fill the pool. No, I'm not that big of a wimp..it was really stuck. Craig even had to use a tool to get it separated. Anyway, the boys didn't get out until their fingers were shriveled. I even stuck my toes in for a moment...I was holding Mitchell so I didnt' stay in long. Once the water gets warmer, I'll give him a whirl.

Father's Day...

This is a little bit late, but the thought is what counts, right?

Just wanted to take a moment to say Happy Father's Day. I have been very fortunate to have a great dad and a great father for my children.

Happy Father's Day!

firsts...

I wanted to share a few first from our household. The first first is Mitchell. For the first time, he rolled over from his back to his tummy today. He actually did it three times (that we know of) though we didn't witness the actual manuever. Each time, he worked himself over then began to cry. I don't think he likes tummy time all that much.

Another first involved my big boys. Thanks to Aunt Kelly and PopPop, Connor and Jackson went to their first movie at a movie theatre. They say "UP" and enjoyed it. Connor apparently held his hands over his ears the entire time, while Jackson started with his hands over his ears then relaxed and enjoyed. At the end of the movie, Jackson was apparently sitting on PopPops lap crying (no one is exactly sure why) and Connor announced...loud enough for others to hear..."I'm bored!" Aunt Kelly followed up with a fancy meal....at Burger King...where Jackson finished all but two packs of chicken tenders! Those crazy kids.

The boys were also able to enjoy a great night at the circus with their cousins Brittany and Austin. Connor again got bored at the end, but Jackson loved every second. They both talked about it the entire next day. They loved the lions and cats especially...oh, and the elephants were cool!

The Countdown is on

Hard to believe, but Connor will be turning 5 in July. Where does the time go? He's been asking about his birthday since July of last year. He wants to have a friend party...so, we decided to invite his friends from his class and a few others friends (plus his cousins.)

I made the invitation. Not great, but the best I've ever done. He's tickled pink....which is enough for me!

Summer Project II

We've been working...

We've been working...

He found his feet!

Mitchell has always like his bouncy seat...but this week, things took a whole new turn. He discovered he has feet....and that they can kick the toys on the bouncy seat! What fun!

Check out this smile....does life get any better than this?

Summer Project

So....we've pulled out our paint brushes and delved into a "Fun" summer project. Initially, we wanted to have the painting done on Memorial Day weekend...alas, we'll be lucky to get it done by Labor Day weekend. Oh well...

Here's an update...

Who says we don't know how to have fun!

Brothers...

well, it's hard to believe that it's been almost three months since we welcomed Mitchell into the family. Life is good...but very, very busy. I started back to work this week which is another adjustment. The boys are adapting very well..though Connor has voiced his opposition to my working several times.

It's been a gift to see the boys growing together. They are so full of love (usually) for one another. There have been a lot of hugs and kisses in our house this past week. I can't get enough.

Here's an update on the boys

Mitchell
  • you are smiling all the time...you coo and almost laugh and love people
  • you're sleeping like a champ...usually asleep by 9:30 and wake at 5 am!
  • you've adjusted well to day care and enjoy the mobile in your crib there
  • You are growing longer (taller) every day...right now you're in the 95th percentile
  • You do not take a pacifier or suck your thumb...but that's okay, because you don't fuss much
  • YOU ARE SO LOVED!

Connor

  • You are getting so big, I can hardly believe it
  • You can't wait for your birthday...but don't quite get the concept of time yet
  • You are working on your letters...and getting better, but don't quite have them which frustrates you
  • You love Mitchell and call him a cutie pie
  • You are a big helper to mommy...you are eager to give a hand when asked
  • You are a picky eater right now...you don't like foods that smell funny and are pretty much a vegetartian
  • You love ham loaf, brocolli, baby carrots, bread, yogurt, and peanut butter
  • You enjoy Thomas, Bob the Builder, and cars
  • You love reading books...and like to "read" to your brothers
  • You can ride a tricycle, but struggle with your bike with training wheels (you say its because we didn't get you the spider man bike!)
  • You come up with some awesome "connor-isms" - like the people who stopped us while we were taking a walk to ask if we had all boys. You answered "yes...good for us!"
  • You love to dress yourself without help and want to learn how to tie your shoes
  • You are eager for kindergarten
Jackson
  • You are talking all the time
  • You love Mitchell...you sit with him, hold his hand, give him kisses...sometime you just ask to see him
  • You love going to school and like to make Miss Katy proud of you
  • You have the cutest little run...little tiny steps with a bit of a prance
  • You KNOW your alphabet...when mommy wears a t-shirt with letters on it, you name every one!
  • You sang in front of the whole church last month with the older kids and did a great job!
  • You like to wipe off the kisses mommy gives you...then asked for more kisses
  • You like to snuggle
  • You follow your brother Connor around..but still like to do your own thing when you want to

Sawyer
  • You a barrel of joy and love wrapped up in a little boy
  • You love to read books and often sit in the rocking chair and page through them yourself
  • You can touch your head, feet, hands and belly when asked (when we ask where's your belly, you proudly pull up your shirt and show us skin!)
  • You are starting to talk...you say momma, dada, thank you, i do it, please, no, no, no and no!
  • You've said Mitchell clear as day...once
  • You love to run, jump, play in the sand box and are magnetically attracted to puddles
  • You love water and like to push your chair up to the sink to "do the dishes"
  • You are a little aggressive...and have gotten your first time out in day care
  • You love to smile and laugh...and be silly

Coming up next....our fun summer project! (No, it's not another baby!)

Rec Room Update

Just wanted to share some pictures of the rec room. It is quickly becoming our favorite room in the house. Connor calls it "the fun room". I tend to be a little more relaxed about clean-up in this room.

Take a look.

We still need to put it all together. But for now its a comfortable space where the kids can let loose.

Introducing....

Mitchell Hayden
March 13, 2009
8: 08pm
8 lbs. 9 oz. 21 inches

This is Mitchell just minutes after he was born. He's been a real cutie pie right from the start.
I'll never forget that first moment when I heard him cry...such a sweet little cry, he sounded like little lamb.

I love how the nurses wrapped him up in the blue blanket...I call it baby burrito!

Here's my mom and dad with their grandchildren. For the forseeable future, this is it! (Unless Kelly surprises us) Just one little princess in the bunch!
