We woke this morning to temperatures below freezing. It was 3 degrees at 7:30am Brrrr. I'm no fan of the cold...so when Connor and Jackson began to beg to go outside, I was way hesitent. Craig, however, thougth it would be great...and after a phone call from Gabby about whether the pond was frozen, the boys (Craig included) were relentless. They wanted to go out and skate.
So, being the good mom that I am...I gave in. But not before warning Craig of all the possibilities of danger and injury that could happen. He promised to take his cell phone out with him...and away they went. Jackson just wore his sneakers, but Connor had skates on. He was so proud of himself.
I stayed inside with Sawyer...so, no pictures of the future figure skaters. (and Craig thinks they want to play ice hockey, ha, ha!).
After about half and hour, they returned. Jackson was shivering and wanted to be warmed up next to the fire. Connor was excited. His first words were, Mom, i was freaking out! (I looked to Craig asking if he'd put those words in Connor's mouth...he said he didn't') Connor went on to explain how he freaked ot at first, but then got the hang of it...and loved it! He went back and forth a few times on the pond and can't wait to go out again.
As they made their way back up to the house, I made them hot chocolate....or hot cocoa as they like to call it. They loved the drink as much as the skating I think!
