Christmas 2010 goes down in the history books as one of the best ever. The boys were so filled with joy...and gratitude....which filled me with joy and gratitude.
The boys woke up around 8...watched some tv...then decided they were ready (okay, I had a few things to finish up) to open gifts.
My favorite moment of the holiday...I think...was our gift from Connor and Jackson.
On Christmas Eve the two of them went off by themselves for a little bit. They asked for scissors and masking tape. Well, on Christmas morning they told us there was a present under the tree for us. We opened up the pizza box that they had wrapped in masking tape and found this large sheet of paper.
If you look closely, you can see that its a drawing of a Christmas tree...complete with ornaments, candy canes and a star. At the bottom, the boys drew pictures of their smiling selves and signed their names.
My heart swells just thinking about it. :)
We didn't go overboard this year. We got each of the boys a few things and told them that whatever they got was to be shared with everyone. They even helped each other open presents.
This is Connor announcing loudly...this is the best Christmas ever! (that may have been my second favorite moment of the day.) The boys said thank you numerous times throughout the day.
We took some time to play, then headed over to Craig's mom's for brunch.
Grandma bought some finger puppets in New York and asked the boys to put on a little show. Spider Man and Homer sange Jingle Bells to us. Hillarious.
The boys got a rebounder from Grandma....it's so cool, and helps to burn off some of the extra energy they have.
The boys had a great time attacking Austin with wrapping paper. I know they enjoyed it...I think Austin enjoyed it too.
By mid-afternoon, we headed back to our house to sit by the fire...and open even more gifts. Oh, did I mention we ate some more too. Mmm
The boys were thrilled with their big gift this year from Aunt Lori. She got them a hockey table. So cool. The Esbenshade boys(including the big one I'm married to) disappeared and put the table together. I think Craig is the reigning champ!

We've been doing a birthday cake for Jesus since the boys were born. They seem to really like it...and it helps us stay centered on the reason we celebrate. This year they asked how many candles to put on Jesus's birthday cake? A good question...they decided 7 would be sufficient.
My parents came over for Christmas dinner and to open presents.
I took a few pictures of our Christmas decor. The boys helped out a lot this year. They basically decorated the whole tree...only to have Mitchell un-decorate it on a daily basis.
We also took time after the Christmas festivities to hit the ice. The boys loved it. Gabby and her friend Olivia even joined in the fun.
