Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was a fun filled day at casa de Esbenshade.
We did a little running around in the morning...Craig and I went to Costco, then I went to the eye doctor....Craig and the boys picked me up at the eye doctor's office...then we all headed home.
Aunt Lynn came over in the afternoon to make cookies and Christmas treats.
These bad boys were awesome.    Sugar cookies with brown butter frosting.  YUM!
Jackson was in charge of decorating.
Craig made home made pizza for dinner..then we headed into church.  The boys sang at the 7pm Children's service.  We brought a whole entourage!  Aunt Lynn and Uncle Dwight came along, so do Grandma...Aunt Lori, Gabby, Britt and Austin came too.  (The other side of their family all got sick...ugh.)  Plus, Aunt Kelly and PopPop came too.  My boys all waved when they saw us...but then Connor started whispering and pointing.  I was puzzled...he told us later that he was telling us that Britt was there and was sitting behind us.  Cute.
The boys did a really nice job...they sang Away in a Manger and Go Tell it On the Mountain.
Connor is on the right hand side in a red sweater...he's a little hidden by the boy in the Argyle vest.  Jackson and Sawyer are on the other side.  Note:  Jackson did not take off his fleece, but he had a very nice red shirt underneath.

As for Sawyer...he refused to change his clothes at home so we took them to church...where he refused to change again. I thought they were wearing robes so I let it be. Oh, well. I don't think Jesus minded at all.
The entire Children's Program was awesome.
Great job, guys.

Voices of Christmas

Connor's First Grade class had a great opporunity right before Christmas.  One of their classmates had a role in the Living Waters production "Voices of Christmas".  The theatre offered to give the students free tickets if the school/parents would provide the transportation.
The first and second graders filled up the first three or four rows.  It was so cool to see.
Connor requested that I take the day off to come watch with him.  I happily agreed. :)
We arrived at the theatre about an hour before the show started.  The director answered questions and gave some behind the scenes insight.
The big highlight...the kids all got to stand on stage.  Connor loved it!
Say Cheese!!!

We weren't allowed to take pictures during the performance, but let me tell you it was awesome.  We all really enjoyed it!  What a special treat.
